Product Pipeline
Interstitial NS has a set of products currently under development.
Transdermal NanoMAP Delivery
Future products based on the NanoMAP technology include:
-
Delivery on demand NanoMAPs: The “on-demand” technology currently under development has the capacity to allow opportunities for the self administration of several medications with dosage control.
-
Skin care applications: NanoMAPs can be optimised for the delivery of proteins and antimicrobials for wound repair such as burns and skin cancer
-
Novel nanoparticles and polymers: Nanoparticulate delivery based on polymeric biocompatible nanoparticles encasing drugs and prodrugs
-
Immunotherapies, e.g. for the treatment of asthma and allergies
nVac
There is significant market potential for the nVac platform including paediatric vaccines, vaccines for the developing world and DNA vaccines. The combination of an nVac vaccine and an Interstitial-NS delivery platform (e.g. NanoMAPs) will drive future applications.
Pulmonary Delivery
It is clear that many other drugs, proteins, nucleic acids and vaccines will benefit from the new forms of delivery. Collaboration with a developer of innovative protein drugs and vaccines may be the most suitable mechanism for further development of the pulmonary delivery platform.
Liquid nanoparticles/drops may solve the low gene transfer efficiency which is the main hindrance to effective DNA cystic fibrosis treatment. Dry powder formulations and delivery devices have not been applicable to the delivery of gene vectors to treat cystic fibrosis. This lack of applicability has resulted in a reliance on conventional aerosol delivery systems (i.e. nebulisers), which typically deliver 2-30% of the nominal dose to the airways. Future development of the pulmonary delivery platform will be for this application.
InCellution
Recombinant antibodies and receptor ligands are increasingly appearing on the market as cancer therapeutics. These will be improved by the InCellution technology, and may be delivered as nanoparticle therapeutics. The objective will be to create “targeted nanoparticles” carrying a payload of cancer destroying reagents, and “targeting reagents” for in vivo imaging.
